I’m looking at purchasing a copy of Nikon Camera Control software for running tethered shooting in studio and think I have found the cheapest source for the latest version. I’ve messed with the trial versions previously and found it fun but soon will be integrating the laptop as a real tool for studio work to give instant high res feedback to models, creative directors or direct clients as to how their shoots are appearing on file. As the files pass from the D3 to the laptop hard drive via this software, they then get grabbed immediately by Adobe Lightroom for bulk edits, keywording on the fly and rating mid shoot.

Voodoo Lulu has recently opened at 240 Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley in Brisbane.  Their range is impressive and their prices quite simply blew a few of us away. We’re seeing high quality corsets in there at half of the prices seen listed in competing alternative store in Australia. The corsets are locally designed and very well made, with steel boning and varying styles to suit most tastes.  The extensive mens collection is due to arrive in a shipment (inc. Tripp, Shrine and many more labels) over the next week or so but in the meantime, they still have the best full length leather coats I’ve ever seen and they’ve been adding new items to their ladies collection daily. I did a quick shoot in there the weekend before last and Violet Vex is now featured on their advertising flyers and business cards.

I’m looking forward to a big future with this store as I used to sell my hand painted designs and t-shirts through the same crew when they long ago ran Dark Obsession in the Valley Station. Below are the business cards I designed for them.  Once the website has been developed I will share the link to that. I have a lot of  product photography, coding and design to sort out before getting that out.

History Alive is almost upon us, this July 25th and 26th, from 10am till 4pm History seemingly comes alive with some of the most spectacular and accurate warfare re-enactment shows you will catch in Australia.

For its 10th consecutive year, the Queensland Living History Federation (Inc) will present a multi-period re-enactment event… History Alive: a journey through time at Fort Lytton National Park in 2009. See Googlemap.

This time-line event will feature a unique display covering re-enactment and living history groups depicting from the era of Roman Legions through to World War II. History Alive; a journey through time is designed to provide each group with the opportunity to carry out performances, provide living history camps, and to mount recruiting displays.

With participation of QLHF member groups, and many other invitees, History Alive promises to be a spectacular weekend.

The public will once again be able to immerse itself in the the sights and sounds of times gone past – where knights of the holy land can be found alongside the combatants of more recent global conflicts, and skills long forgotten can be rediscovered in presentations of day to day life differing greatly from our more contemporary existance.
